On 21 October 2026, Thai Ha Books was delighted to welcome representatives from the rights department of Gramedia (Indonesia) and Squirrel Rights Agency (SCC) – Ban Quyen Con Soc – to its office in Hanoi for a visit and discussions.

Gramedia is one of Indonesia’s leading publishing and book distribution companies and is part of the Kompas Gramedia Group. With a history spanning more than 50 years, Gramedia has developed a diverse publishing ecosystem, an extensive network of bookshops across Indonesia, and several renowned publishing imprints, including Gramedia Pustaka Utama, Elex Media Komputindo, Grasindo and Kepustakaan Populer Gramedia (KPG).

Squirrel Rights Agency (SCC) specialises in literary rights representation and licensing, connecting publishers, authors and partners both domestically and internationally.

The visit also provided a wonderful opportunity for the parties to reconnect, catch up and build upon the relationships established during their recent participation in the Indonesia International Book Fair (IIBF 2026), held in Jakarta in early October.

In a warm, open and friendly atmosphere, representatives from the three organisations introduced and explored the book catalogues of Gramedia and Thai Ha Books, discussing the selection of titles that would best align with each organisation’s publishing strategies and business objectives.

The meeting also sparked engaging conversations about the Vietnamese and Indonesian book markets, readers’ preferences, trends in rights acquisition and licensing, and opportunities for publishing cooperation between the two countries.

Thai Ha Books extends its sincere appreciation to the representatives of Gramedia and Squirrel Rights Agency for taking the time to visit, share insights and strengthen connections. We hope that meetings such as this will continue to pave the way for meaningful and practical partnerships, fostering greater cultural exchange and contributing to the growth of the publishing industries in both Vietnam and Indonesia.
