Thai Ha Books Welcomes Ms. Claudia Kaiser – Vice President of the Frankfurt Book Fair to Vietnam for a Working Visit

On the morning of March 17, Thai Ha Books was delighted to welcome Ms. Claudia Kaiser, Vice President of the Frankfurt Book Fair, on her visit to Vietnam, where she held working sessions with leaders from the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Publishing Association.

Meeting with the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism

Mr. Pham Tuan Long – Director of the Department – and Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Huong – Deputy Director – warmly welcomed Ms. Claudia Kaiser and expressed their sincere appreciation for her and the Frankfurt Book Fair organizers’ strong support over the years, especially in facilitating Vietnam’s participation with a national booth at the Frankfurt Book Fair.

Mr. Pham Tuan Long emphasized that culture is currently receiving unprecedented attention from the Government, the Party, and the State. He confirmed that Vietnam will continue to participate in the Frankfurt Book Fair 2026. Notably, this year, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will intensify efforts to promote the image of Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám (the Temple of Literature) at the international book fair, in celebration of the 950th anniversary of its establishment.

Representing the Frankfurt Book Fair, Ms. Claudia Kaiser reaffirmed her strong commitment to supporting reading culture in Hanoi and across Vietnam. She pledged to continue creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese delegations to participate in the fair annually, and proposed the establishment of a representative office of the Frankfurt Book Fair in Hanoi. She also suggested reopening professional training courses for editors and publishing professionals.

Meeting with the Vietnam Publishing Association

Welcoming Ms. Claudia Kaiser and the Thai Ha Books delegation were Associate Professor Dr. Pham Minh Tuan – Chairman of the Association – and Mr. Do Quang Dung – Vice Chairman.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Minh Tuan affirmed that Vietnam is focusing on developing its cultural industries, with publishing being given priority and favorable conditions to achieve stronger growth in the future. He shared initiatives, such as using traditional paper to produce special-edition books as gifts and for promotion at international book fairs. He also expressed the hope that motion technology will help bring books to readers in more vivid and effective ways.
