Vietnam Reading Promotion Project 2022 – 2026

The Vietnam Reading Promotion Project was initiated by Thai Ha Books on February 22, 2022, with the mission of fostering and developing a sustainable reading culture through diverse initiatives, from installing Book ATM stations and free community bookshelves to organizing engagement programs, book fairs, and reading festivals that inspire a love of books.

After four years of implementation, the project has received strong support from readers as well as valuable contributions from individuals and organizations, helping to elevate and strengthen the reading culture across the country.

313 Community Book ATMs have been established at schools, offices, and community organizations from urban centers to remote mountainous areas, continuing to spread knowledge and meaningful values to readers nationwide.

135 “Reading Books Together” programs have been organized, with one book shared each month. Designed to cultivate healthy reading habits, the program is accessible and engaging, particularly for young readers, helping make reading a regular part of daily life.

09 Reading Promotion Book Fairs have been held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, contributing more than VND 140 million to the Reading Promotion Fund. These fairs attracted dozens of participating organizations and individuals from various industries and sectors.

25 online talk shows – “Reading Promotion: A Journey to Spread Reading Culture” have connected passionate advocates, partners, and book lovers, further strengthening the reading community.

A monthly initiative gifting 22 books on the 22nd of each month has been carried out to promote reading culture and express appreciation to readers.

Reading Promotion is a long-term journey and one that would not be possible without the collective support of readers, communities, and businesses. We look forward to continuing this meaningful journey together through practical initiatives that further advance reading culture in Vietnam.
